Ljubljana Wastewater Treatment Plant is planning an investment in construction of the 3rd stage of the plant amounting app. 15 million EUR. With this investment the plant will be upgraded to treat increased future load and particularly eliminate nitrogen and phosphorous compounds that will be subjected to more stringent quality requirements coming into force in 2016. Due to the high investment and complexity of the technological problems, the technological solutions for the 3rd stage - as proposed in the preliminary design - were also verified and evaluated by means of dynamical mathematical models of wastewater treatment processes. The review of preliminary design includes the design of mathematical models of existing water line and sludge treatment line, and their upgrading with proposed technological solutions for the third stage. By simulation and evaluation of the foreseen effluent quality we confirmed the appropriateness of the proposed solutions and in some cases suggested some improvements.
F.04 Increase of the technological level
COBISS.SI-ID: 25008935JSI and the company INEA have developed in the last years a number of tools for recipe-based control of batch processes. These tools represent an important advancement in the area of improving the reliability of the batch process control systems, reducing the cost of these systems, and increasing the degree of reuse of the recipes, all resulting in a substantial increase of the competitiveness of the company INEA in the area of batch process control systems development. The new tools were already successfully used in a number of projects of batch process control systems development for Slovene industry. In the area of the development of the mentioned tools, in the year 2011 the automatic generation of parts of the application code was realized to avoid entering the same information repeatedly into different parts of the control system. Process events recording and archiving, and production reports generating was also implemented. In order to improve the commercialization of the tool, a professional user manual was written.
