International elite interdisciplinary conference with thirty predominantly eminent speakers from all over the world, including three Nobel Prize Laureates (H.H. the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Yunus, ter Jean-Marie Lehn), with the title Innovative ways to improve the culture of living, taking place on 15-17 May 2012 at the University of Maribor. Prof. M. Robnik was the coordinator of the conference, whilst the foundation and concept is due to the Rector of the UM Prof. D. Rebolj. Among the invited speakers were also Prof. Felix Unger, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Prof. Dr.Dr.h.c.mult. Siegfried Grossmann from the University of Marburg, Rosanna Santesso from UNESCO, Prof. Denis Noble from the Oxford University, Prof. Mirjam Cvetič (UPenn and CAMTP), Prof. Tomaž Prosen from University of v Ljubljana, Prof. Tassos Bountis from University of Patras, Prof. Sara A. Traditional symposium of physicists of UM, so-called Chritsmas symposium, taking place on 6-8 Dec 2012 , which is predominently national meeting, but with strong participation of distinguished physicists from abroad (Europe, Japan, USA). We had 42 participants, among them 26 invited speakers from Slovenia and 9 from abroad. The main organizer is Prof. Marko Robnik.
