In collaboration with Krka Pharmaceuticals, Novo mesto, we developed a chemical process for the preparation of duloxetine, an antidepressant drug. Using our laboratory developed chiral ruthenium-based transfer hydrogenation catalyst the product was prepared in high enantiomeric and chemical purity.

EN-FIST centre of excellence is focused into two priority areas in the fields of health and life sciences and advanced new synthetic metallic and non-metallic materials. In addition to managing, members of the program group P1-242 were involved in 2010 in the three Research and development projects, submitted a patent applications and many other achievements.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4384282Symposium on Nucleic Acid Chemistry, Structure and Interactions gathered leading scientists working on nucleic acids from Europe, USA, Korea, China and Japan, in one place. Scientists have presented their results of their latest research in areas of synthesis of modified heterocycles, nucleosides and oligonucleotides. These molecules have great potential as therapeutic agents of next generation. In addition, modified oligonucleotides are used for diagnostic purposes. One part of the symposium was focused on G-quadruplexes, which are intensively studied in our program group.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
COBISS.SI-ID: 251065088The primary purpose of the project was the development and implementation of analytical methodology, which will in future help to distinguish between samples and, consequently, also confirm the authenticity of the samples on the market. In this way we contribute to the protection of consumers, producers with established and the reported quality control and supervisory bodies that would have such a methodology tool in detecting forgery and false labeling of fruit juices. As a result of our work we want to highlight the emerging data bank with analytical parameters of individual fruit juices.
