In the plenary lecture we reported theoretical and experimental investigations of the structure of colloidal dispersions and pure liquids by small angle x-ray scattering and computer simulations. We presented theoretical background of the small angle scattering, methods for the data treatment and evaluation of experimental scattering data, and various methods for the calculation of x-ray scattering by Monte Carlo computer simulation. Applications of these methods were shown on the example of the structural studies of microemulsions and some simple organic liquids.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36215557In this paper we reported on the experimental and theoretical results of thermodynamic and transport properties of aqueous ionene solutions. Various properties were systematically measured and compiled to lead to a more general picture of the combined effects of charge density and nature of counterions in polyelectrolyte solutions.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36246789We reported about the first determination of structures and phase diagram in polystyrenesulfonate anion-surfactant cation-water mixtures containing polyiom with hydrophobic groups (i.e. the benzene ring) in the chain is reported. Results point to an important influence of polyion's hydrophobic character on phase behavior. Surprisingly, polyion hydrophobicity promotes dissolution of the complex salt when the polyion is in excess and provides further stabilization when the surfactant ion is in excess. Our results contribute to understanding of phase behavior in practicallyrelevant systems.
