Mammalia is one of the leading international journals on mammalian biology, and is listed in SCI. The responsibility of the Associate Editor is to find and invite reviewers, judge the suitability of the manuscript for publication in the journal, and to make decision once all reviewers have submitted their reports. Decission by the Associate Editor is passed to the Editor-in-Chief for final decission and notification to the author(s). The Associate Editor is also responsible for encouraging potential contributors to submit their manuscripts to Mammalia, and to propose special subjects. As the bulk of research results are published in periodical journals, the Associate Editor also serves to a scientific community.

The project aims at biodiversity conservation in a cultural landscape. We monitore plants, butterflies, beetles and small terrestrial mammals in selected vineyards, olive grooves and orchards which are located within Protected Areas and Natura 2000 sites as well as outside them. Although systems of nature conservation differ between countries, they all foresee their goal in a protection of biological and landscape diversity. The Mediterranean garden within the planned Centre of Mediterranean cultures will be a collection of plant species from the transboundary area.
