COBISS.SI-ID: 23246631Miha Nemevšek considered two grand unified theories in his Ph.D. thesis. He showed that the minimal renormalizable supersymmetric SO(10) is realistic providing the sfermions are much heavier than gauginos and higgsinos, while in the minimal nonsupersymmetric SU(5) model he checked that the weak triplet is around the TeV scale at two loop order.
F.02 Acquisition of new scientific knowledge
COBISS.SI-ID: 2155108B. Bajc had an invited talk "Probing seesaw and leptonic CPV " at the 2009 Workshop on Lepton and Baryon Number Violation, Wisconsin, Madison, USA. In it he described the simplest and minimal nonsupersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory, which predicts the existence of a TeV scale weak triplet. This triplet decays through a lepton number violating interaction which is responsible also for neutrino masses. The LHC could find it out and directly measure the neutrino parameters providing the triplet is not much heavier than 500-700 GeV.
