The strategy on sustainable use of natural resources is treated as a whole, namely prevention of waste production in their recycling process. Sustainable supply and reduction of utilisation of raw-materials from EU sources is encouraged, according to the EU directive 2006/12/ES on recycling of at least 70 % of civil engineering waste.
