We investigated the Kobarid basin which is located in one of three areas with the highest seismic hazard in Slovenia. In the last 35 years it was hit by four damaging earthquakes. The iso-frequency map of sediments was prepared and interpreted in terms of known geological structure. In addition a potential of soil-structure resonance was assessed. The results of the study will be used in retrofitting of building and in future spatial planning in the area.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1878613The explanatory book is like a geological map primarily intended for domestic and foreign experts, students of different profiles and also for those, who are interested in geology of Kras. Considering, that the explanatory book deals with the territory of a classical carst, which holds a special place among the carst regions, the explanatory book, together with the geological map, represents one of the key works for environmentalists and planners of the planned Kras Regional Park.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1790037A debris-flow (DF) susceptibility model at scale 1 : 250,000 was produced. Several information layers were used, geology, rainfall, DEM, hydraulic network, and locations of known DF. A linear model weighted sum approach was selected on the basis of easily acquired spatio-temporal factors. Based on the calculations of 672 linear models with different weight combinations for used factors and based on results of their DF prediction success, the best model was selected.
