The paper presents the results of analysis of impact advancing longwall coal mining on surrounding rocks using the 3D Finite Difference Method. The geometric data preparation was done using a computer program that allows fast construction of large networks of 3D Finite Difference incl. more than 355,500. Extensive numerical simulations of mining exploitation developments, which have been made for the analysis of impact coal mining on mine road ways in Velenje Mine showed that it is possible to use more constitutive models to analyze several caved and re-compressed hanging wall layers.

To achieve progress in the planned construction of mine roadways, in addition to the method of manufacture using modern technologies, it should consider the effects of coal mining on their stability. 3D geomechanical analysis allows optimization of construction process under strict safety regulations.
