We organized scientific meeting with topics production and trade with glass on the Adriatic. From the prehistoric period this area was crossed with important navigable routes that connected N Adriatic with the Mediterranean. Also glass-working spread from this area to the inland via the Adriatic routes through the trade of raw materials and products as well as craftsmen exchange. The meeting presented research about trade with raw materials and raw glass in antiquity, imports of glass products from Mediterranean workshops and trade routes of Italic workshops in the Adriatic area.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1604307On the conference the author presented glass material from the Roman cemetery, situated along the main Adriatic navigable routes. The time span of the site range from the 1st to the 3rd century AD. The studied material shows rich trade contacts of the Adriatic with the Mediterranean and northern Italic area. Analysed material shows intensive contacts with N Italic production centres in the early period and later the spread of the contacts towards E Mediterranean – Cyprus, Asia Minor, Egypt. We can single out valuable products with engraved decoration, made by order in specialized workshops.
