At the conference the author presented glass material from the Roman cemetery, situated along the main Adriatic navigable routes. The time span of the site range from the 1st to the 3rd century. The studied material shows rich trade contacts of the Adriatic with the Mediterranean and northern Italic area. Analysed material shows intensive contacts with N Italic production centres in the early period and later the spread of the contacts towards E Mediterranean – Cyprus, Asia Minor, Egypt. Most valuable are products with engraved decoration, made by order in specialized workshops.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1699539At the international conference 'La pittura romana nell'Italia settentrionale e nelle regioni limitrofe', Aquileia, 6-8 maggio 2010, the project leader presented the remains of a fine fresco decoration from a villa sub-urbana in Noricum. The material that was left in a depot for a century is the unique example of the 4th Pompeian style of fresco decoration and can be compared in quality with the finds from Pompei and Herculaneum. The material is also the best evidence how quickly the achievements of Roman crafts spread to the provinces – the villa dates to the 1st century AD.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1817811I. Lazar organized scientific meeting with topics production and trade with glass on the Adriatic, which was crossed with important navigable routes. The glass-working spread through the trade of raw materials and products as well as craftsmen exchange. The meeting presented research about trade with raw materials and raw glass, imports of glass products from Mediterranean workshops and trade routes of Italic workshops in the Adriatic area.

Collected papers present the latest results of the research from the area between the Alps and Pannonia. Its aim was to promote the results of the research in Slovenia and the presentation of its scientific potential as well as the incorporation of the results in the international streams and specialistic fields of research.

The school of Museology focuses on implementation and dissemination of the scientific research and its results. Its aim is to implement the results of research work on the field of presentation and promotion of heritage. The subject of the meeting was Museums and tourism – topic given by the international museum council-ICOM. Work in workshops and visits of the sites enabled the participants to research and learn how research results can be disseminated to the public.
