The article involves an analytical comparison of two literary accounts of modern Slovene history: i.e. the historical novels Nokturno za Primorsko (Nocturne for Primorska) and Zatemnitev (Twilight) by Boris Pahor and Alojz Rebula with the subject of both being the resistance movement. Both authors ponder on the crucial relations between literature and history: the universal contexts of European and world history, the context of national history, the role of Resistance, autobiographical elements, ideological interpretation of Slovene history, as well as the current political situation.

The article published by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts deals with the question of the Yugoslav-Italian border that after WWII became of a major interest for both Blocs. In the beginning of 1946 at the Paris peace conference the question was re-addressed, Gorica (Gorizia) was incorporated into Italy and the Free Territory of Trieste was formed. The Yugoslav diplomacy launched a campaign to sign a bilateral agreement with Italy in order to annul the decisions adopted at the peace conference. Italy was undecided until the very end when it finally signed the peace treaty.
