Project by WWF, one of the leading international organization in nature conservation, helps to fulfill commitments of countries towards the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and builds on the establishment of an effective network of protected areas in the Dinaric Ecoregion (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania) with a goal of prevention of rapid biodiversity decline (Countdown 2012). Scientific part of the project is supported by five National Scientific Coordinator appointed by responsible ministries.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1686227The project aimed at biodiversity conservation in a cultural landscape. We monitored plants, butterflies, beetles and small terrestrial mammals in selected vineyards, olive grooves and orchards which were located within Protected areas and Natura 2000 sites as well as outsite them. Although systems of nature conservation differ between countries, they all foresee their goal in a protection of biological and landscape diversity. The Mediterranean garden within the planned Centre of Mediterranean cultures will be a collection of plant species from the transboundary area.
