The State Map of the Republic of Slovenia in a scale 1 : 250,000 was prepared by the Commission for the Standardization of Geographical Names of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia within the Geodetic Institute of Slovenia and was published by the The Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia in autumn of 2008. The back page contains a list of all geographical names from the map, along with their coordinates. All geographical names in the Republic of Slovenia (around 4,200) and all Slovenian exonyms (some dozen names) in the neighbouring countries are standardized.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29309741This improved list of headwords provides for suitable use of Slovenian exonyms in classifying library material in the COMARC (Cooperative Machine-Readable Cataloging Program) system. A specially prepared code list presents the most suitable forms of Slovenian exonyms and cites all of their allonyms as possible subordinate expressions with cross-references to the primary headword. The character codes for classifying individual territorial units are given only at the primary headword. A selection of entries adapted for the English-speaking environment was also adapted to the Slovenian setting.
F.16 Improvements to an existing information system/databases
COBISS.SI-ID: 29651501We translated and adapted the original Student Atlas published by Dorling Kindersley. We also prepared a special cartographic supplement for Slovenia with sections titled Rock; Terrain; Water; Climate, Flora, and Fauna; Population; Settlements; and Economy. To this we added the thematic sections Geographical Names, with translations of several hundred concepts that appear as parts of geographical names in various languages of the world, and Geographical Expressions, with brief terminological explanations of about 130 concepts that appear most frequently in the atlas.

COBISS.SI-ID: 237703424The contemporary standard geographical name for the Bay of Piran is Piranski zaliv. With the breakup of Yugoslavia the waters in the border region between Slovenia and Croatia became the focus of a border dispute between the two neighbouring countries. This paper presents the historical aspects of naming and renaming the bay in detail, especially with regard to the dissemination of the name Savudrijska vala in newspapers and even labels on Croatian maps, which were used aggressively by some Croatian politicians.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29995565The world map published by the well-known National Geographic Society was adapted. In Slovenia, it was published by Rokus as a supplement to National Geographic Junior magazine. In addition to the main 1:45,500,000 map, there are four margin maps showing the Arctic, the Antarctic, Vegetation and Land Use, and Population Density. In line with the findings of the project, the maps bear nativized names of countries and many regions, administrative units, oronyms, hydronyms, submarine relief, place names, and certain other features.
