We have studied the processing of PZT based thick films by using electrophoretic deposition. The colloidal suspension were prepared in ethanol in addition of polyelectrolite nad organic base. The electrophoretic deposition was done with contant current mode on gold coated alumina substrate. The functional properties of sintered PZT layer are comparable with those prepared with screen printing.

PMN-PT thick-films on alumina substrates were prepared from nano-sized high-energy milled powder using screen-printing technology. Single phase PMN-PT without any pyrochlore phase was obtained after the sintering. The functional properties of the PMN-PT structure are optimal when the balance between the density and the amount of liquid phase is achieved.

We study the preparation of stable aqueous suspensions of PZT powder. For the preparation of PZT submicron powder we used colloidal attritor mill. We were studied the influence of the addition of surfactants on the size and size distribution of PZT. We were prepared PZT powders suitable for deposition by ink jet method.

We have studied processing and characterisation of strain sensor on textile based substrates. Piezoresitivve paste based on carbon was screen printed and cured at 120°C. The influence of carbon paste composition was studied. Interaction between used materials and textile substrate was investigated. Mechanical and electrical properties of sensors was measured.
