We have analysed the influence of screen printing parameters (mesh density, curing properties, wet-to-wet overprinting, used printing substrate) on the shape and electrical properties of prints. Clear evidence was obtained that printing parameters influences on electrical properties of prints in a large extent. For this reason, the conductivity data provided by printing ink producers cannot be used in designing of simple printed electronic components.

Some methods were developed to evaluate the printability of several components of printed electronics. Stereomicroscope, digital camera and scanning electron microscope were applied to acquire images. For the image analysis applying ImageJ software, new macros and plug-ins were developed to identify the quality and acceptability of print process. It was shown that they can be applied for in-line identification of problems during print process.
