The study presents a method for estimating the priority of new investments in distribution networks from a technical and economic standpoint. The analysis focuses on overhead line-to-cable reconstructions which are due to the expected enhanced reliability and quality of electricity supply. According to the systematic analysis of network reliability, reconstruction locations where the reliability objectives can be achieved are recommended. The study is important for proper understanding of the influence of an increased share of cable network on operation of compensation devices.

COBISS.SI-ID: 6909780In order to adequately evaluate flicker propagation in transmission networks it is essential to conduct accurate flicker measurements. The paper analyzes field measurements of flicker in a part of the Slovenian transmission system that has been influenced by a large arc furnace for a long time. Measurements were conducted in a limited number of network nodes for two different network topologies. Results indicate that a solution to flicker problems at the given location can be achieved with the installation of a suitable compensation device (SVC, StatCom).
