The article deals with isotope properties of groundwater in the unsaturated zone of intergranular aquifer. On the basis of isotope composition it is possible to draw conclusions about the mechanisms of groundwater flow and retention times in the unsaturated zone, which provides very important information for the prediction of pollution transport from the surface to the aquifer.

Soil water retention characteristics and soil water dynamics in soil profie under different vegetables irrigation treatments (covering 50 and 100% plant's water demand, farmer's irrigation practice) in Sneberje on Ljubljansko polje. The largest available water capacity had the upper layer of plot under farmer's practice, whereas the lowest available water capacity was found in the top layer of the control plot with no irrigation. The results are relevant for the analysis of nutrient leaching from fertilised soils under different agricultural practices.
