From year 2007 dr. Vasja Vehovar has been developing a stand-alone module for online data collection was added – OneClickSurvey (1CS) or EnKlikAnketa (1KA) in Slovenian. The tool enables the user-friendly implementation of complex surveys and is not restricted only to web questionnaires but provides support for data entry, telephone and mail surveys. The application is available at www.1ka.si, while English version is available at www.1cs.si. It has already been used for implementation of more than 3000 surveys by various academic, commercial and official institutions.

COBISS.SI-ID: 30211677The WebSM web site (www.websm.org) is the central international online source of web survey methodology information (i.e. data collection with web survey questionnaires). The website was established in 1998 and upgraded within EU 5th Framework program that has ended in 2005. The web site is still upgraded and updated.

COBISS.SI-ID: 30211421Authors initially theoretically describe and elaborate a theoretical approach to the problem of balancing costs and errors in mixed-mode surveys. On this basis they present the approach used to address this problem in empirical experimental study, which compared different mixed-mode designs with official data. The cheapest survey mode proved to be web survey, however, it produced lower coverage and response rates. As most appropriate mixed mode that authors exposed web survey followed by a telephone or face-to-face surveying of non-respondents.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29155421Paper presents the results of a detailed analysis of experimental study, focusing primarily on effects of incentives. The authors establish a methodology of simultaneous bias estimation of several variables, which allows higher level of reliability of the estimates. Analysis of optimization is based on different real and simulated scenarios of costs and errors. The findings shows that it is crucial to perform a detailed methodological and cost analysis of the use of incentives, since response rates do not guarantee a higher data quality.

COBISS.SI-ID: 28466525The paper presents the results of a study on the optimal integration of the web mode into a probability sample survey of the general population in Slovenia. A probability sample of Slovenian citizens was divided into several experimental groups, manipulating different survey modes (web, telephone and mail) and different types of incentives (5 Euros cash, a small gift or no incentive). Individuals were initially invited to complete the web questionnaire. Those who did not respond were subsequently contacted using one of the traditional modes (telephone or mail).
