The author described the relations of the communist authorities to the historiography, treating it as an instrument of political legitimisation. On the basis of the archive material of the Historical Commission of the Central Committee of the LCS, as well as researching other relevant sources, the author established and thoroughly explained the levers of the political control and censorship of historiography - they were for the most part implicit.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2675316The contribution analyses two types of censorship interventions into repertoire of Slovenian theatres in the period between the two world wars and the period after 1945. Before World War II, the censors mostly came from the Catholic circles, while in the second period they were a part of the Communist Party. Even though they opposed each other politically, censors in both periods adhered to the common idea of censorship: to abolish everything not in line with their ideology. The Catholic model explicitly prescribed what to forbid, while the Communist censorship worked behind the scenes.
