Article tries to throw light upon garden plans at Dornava through the commissioner and the architect of the manor's renovation. The commissioner was a wealthy and educated noble, who worked in Wienna. He subsequently transferred the influences from the capital to Carniola, as can be seen in the manuscript Werk von der Architektur (originated between 1630 and 1680). Architectural work on the manor Dornava is attributed to Styrian master Jožef Hueber. The latter probably elaborated an outline scheme of the garden, at least the analysis and comparison to his other projects would suggest so.
