Matej Klemenčič organizes biennial scientific symposium Architectural History. Firstly it was organized in December 2007 as a preparation for this project. The second symposium took place in November 2009. It had a more datailed subtitle, namely Architects, Commissioners and Society. The third symposium will take place in November 2011, where the final findings of this project will be presented.

Basic sources for the formation of this kind of survey were different plans of the city from the mentioned period. Article presents garden at the diocesan palace, botanical garden; Latterman's promenade, park Zvezda, gardens in the Babja valley, some monastic gardens, the garden at the Cekin's castle... A large number of the settled green urban areas in this period was a reflexion of the change of goverment and of the interest of the citizens for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment in the outside area.

COBISS.SI-ID: 45397602The exhibition displayed more than 50 plans of district engineers and master masons in the area of Slovenian Styria between 1786 and 1849. The plans are important archival sources for the architectural and urbanistic history of Styrian cities and squares. Catalogue, which has a status of scientific monograph, contains a number of scientific articles, which deal with master masons and building regulations.

COBISS.SI-ID: 241161472Building history of the church of St. Barbara in Idrija is solved on the basis of archival sources and plans. This contribution opens up important questions about characteristics of style of sacred architecture in the first half of the 17th century in Slovenian lands and brings some new information about Ljubljana's architect Johann Georg Schmidt. Although the latter worked in this city from 1728 until 1754 almost nothing is known about his building activities in Carniola. The article will soon be published in review Annales. Historia et Sociologia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8096329Metoda Kemperl and Matej Klemenčič regularly cooperate with the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia in expert commissions and expert opinions, concerning the demolishion, renovation, reconstruction and enlargement of immovable cultural monuments. The above mentioned expert opinion is just one of many already solved.
