This book brings together 21 selected papers on traditional conceptualizations of space and time in Europe, the two categories that are basic for our understanding of traditional European worldview. They were written by European researchers from many different countries and various disciplines (ethnology, folkloristics, archaeology, cosmology, history, literature, and linguistics) in order to be able to get an overview of the categories of space and time from a variety of aspects and to assess the cultural modulations of space and time, across time and space, in European worldview and praxis.
