The 1848 and 1868 as the first year of meetings constitute two Slovene political peaks that are related to the phenomena;of political elites. They shares liberal political ideas on one hand. But there are many economic and social differences. Compared to 1868, peasants were more active in 1848, competing with politycal programme with a social one. In 1868, intelectuals were accepted as peasant leaders.This period witnessed a significant social progress in modernisation of the Slovene society.

The negative consequences of excessive drinking have been presented to a broad public since the mid-19th century onwards.. In addition, alcoholism was believed to cause severe social damage. Alcoholism leads to crime, suicide, economic ruin, and stunted growth in children. It does not only contribute to the devolution of the race, but to the degeneration of future generations.
