A prototype of automated quantitative assessment of perifollicular vascularisation is described. The proposed algorithm works with 3D power Doppler ultrasound images. The procedure is based on continuous wavelet transform. After that, the vessels contained in 5 mm thick layer around the follicle are categorized according to their diameter. The vessel thickness at certain point is defined as the diameter of the largest sphere which includes the point and fits entirely inside the vessel.
