The discussion on urban green spaces opens up the old paradigmatic question on the relationship between the city and nature. The text deals with different, more or less successful examples how to reconcile this relationship. In modern societies, people’s dissatisfaction with the mere symbolic presence of nature in the cities has had a substantial impact. The conclusion argues that the question of nature in the city should be replaced by that of the city in nature.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2303683Publication presents the results of the analysis of discursive practices in spatial organisation and planning. “Problems continue to arise when trying to clearly differentiate between the discipline, (in)directly involved groups of people, and politics. What is still lacking is the insight that the relations within this “magic” triangle are equally in need of professional research and analysis, because they are a constituent element of (un)successful spatial organisation and planning.
