Results showed that changes in visual and or somatosensory flow did not influence on the anticipatory postural adjustments. The maximal foreword position of the center of pressure is on the other hand affected by the sensory conditions. With additional light touch from the hand the center of pressure moves significantly foreword compared to no touch conditions. Except in the eyes closed conditions the utility of light touch was insufficient.

Here presented results show on a sample of 29 elderly persons (70 ± 2 years) that data filtering using Gaussian filter substantially influences the resulting stabilometric parameters. The influence of the number of data points and thus of the measurement time has been studied by analysis of the data simulated by the tethered random walk algorithm. Besides the standard statistical measures, fractal dimensions of centre of pressure trajectories and the stabilogram outlines have been calculated.
