This paper presents the results from an experimental study of sustainable high performance machining of Inconel 718. High temperature alloys, such as nickel and titanium alloys, pose significant difficulty in machining when using conventional means due to their unique thermo-mechanical properties. This study focuses on sustainable machining of nickel alloy (Inconel 718) and compares the performance of cryogenic, dry and near-dry (MQL) machining. Cutting forces, surface roughness and tool-wear are measured.
