Biology has two opposing views of life and organisms: organismic and reductionist. In contemporary biology, the molecular reductionist approach prevails. Organicism has well-elaborated ideas but no empirical confirmation. In this article we proposed that empirical confirmation could be found in the endogenous coherent EM field. We emphasised that this would have far-reaching consequences in many areas of biological science, i.e., in ontogeny, the theory of evolution and above all, cancer.

We stated that advances in science are not achieved merely through the accumulation of knowledge but also through the development of new concepts. In physics, the concept of the field was used centuries ago, while in life sciences we are still waiting for a similar universally acceptable term. One of the promising concepts is the concept of biofield. Here many problems and questions pose themselves: what is the physical basis of the biofield; what are the scientific evidences and what is the biological meaning of such a field. We also discuss the significance of the biofield for consciousness.

Article confirmed the hypothesis that a high voltage electric field can imprint molecular information into water or water solution. They demonstrated significant biological effects of molecular information on the garden cress germination.
