The article presents the work for the first volume of the SLA: the SlovarRed 2.0 database, which together with the GIS enables an analysis of dialect data and various modes of displaying linguistic data on the map. The second part contains an analysis of dialect words for 'hip', SLA question No 55, which in the SLA material contains nearly 60 different single- and multi-word lexemes. The collected words are equipped with linguistic commentaries which also cast some light on problems concerning linguistic material and on the methods of data organisation and presentation on lexical maps.

The monography represents analytical-synthetic work on the dual in Slovenian dialects. It provides grammatical, morphological and historical background to the dual. Part II concludes with a typology, statistics on dual use and a summary of findings. Using the methods of linguistic geography, an attempt is made to present, on 26 linguistic maps, the different ways in which Slovenian dialects use the dual. The comments added to analyse the dialect material for SLA show the differences between the dual system of the standard language and different types of dual found in the dialects.

The article discusses the delimitation criteria between Slovene dialects and sub-dialects. The criteria for horizontal dialect delimitation and classification are of a genetic as well as a structural nature and are combined in a complementary way. The described approach towards the delimitation of language reality takes into account the factual geo-linguistic reality of the language continuum in question. Furthermore, the horizontal dialect classification has to consider the phenomena of transitional areas and dialect islands.

The aim of the study is to analyse the impact areas and to geographically allocate the local speeches in the SLA for a more precise determination of the isoglosses. This will enable a better understanding of the nature of a particular speech. Various evidences (i. e. intra- and extra-linguistic indicators) that influenced formation of the particular speech have been analysed with the GIS. The allocation of the speeches has been generated through the innovative variables, which describe potential delimitations considering geographic criteria with help of the database of settlements in Slovenia.

The article presents dialectal expressions connected with the semantic field human body collected for the Slovene Linguistic Atlas, the first volume of which is being drawn by the FRISL. The problematic nature and changeability of the questionnaire for the SLA and the diversity of the material that has been gathered for this project over the last sixty years are shown. The method used for the linguistic analysis of the material and the way it is shown on the language map is illustrated with the material for question SLA 038 whitlow.
