By working on The lexicon and the course of lexical isoglosses in Slovene dialects in Austrian Carinthia project we analyzed material for producing the dialect dictionary Tezaver slovenskega ljudskega jezika na Koroškem (Dictionary of Slovene Popular Speech in Carinthia). Using diverse materials, we defined the types of sources for the dialect dictionary with regard to the purpose of the research and the usability of the material in individual sections of the dialect dictionary.

In the article the denominations for the plant potatoe (solanum tuberosum) in the Slovenia dialects of Austrian Carinthia (the Gailtal/Zilja, Rosental/Rož, Obir/Obir, Jauntal/Podjuna dialects) are presented, from lexicological as well as geolinguistic perspectives. As a sythesis to the analytical part of the study a lexicological linguistic map presenting the shape of issolexes parting the areas with different denominations like (podzemeljske) hruške, čompe, repa, repica, krompir is aded.

The article introduces the history of concepts and works performed on the long-term project Lexical Inventory of Slovene Vernacular Language in Carinthia which has been continued through the project Lexica and the Development of Isolexes in Slovene dialects in Austrian Carinthia. The main part of the article comprises a map of names for ‘forest’, prepared by means of modern computer tools, and the map’s commentary.

In the article an analysis of words for 'corn' in Slovenian dialects in Austrian Carinthia (turka, turkinja, turščica, sirek and koruza) and their inclusion in the system of names for corn in Slovenian dialects as shown on the already published map on the basis of the material for SLA is presented. Individual adjectival, nominal and verbal derivatives from the lexeme sirek point in the direction of the widening of the isolexe.

In the article the criteria of delimitation between single Slovenian dialects and subdialects within a dialect base are discussed. Moreover, for each dialect and subdialect its definitory characteristics are given. The criteria of dialectogical delimitation and classification on horizontal level are of genetic as well as structural nature and are compelentary combined.
