Discussed are new findings on the quantity and quality of Giovanni Antonio Rigatti’s compositions preserved in Koper that were identified by means of comparison and approximately dated on the basis of the analysis of different scribes’ handwritings. A selection from the 11 unica was analysed. New findings are important for the evaluation of national heritage and at the same time provide materials for the world-wide research on this important Venetian composer of the mid-17th century. Through this text the Slovenian musicology actively entered international circles of related specific studies.

The study presents a completely unknown composer Giacomo Genzo of Koper. Compiled was a catalogue of his known and newly discovered compositions which were catalogued in the international RISM database: the data are publicly available. His analysed works were put into the context of a local musical life that we know from the surviving musicalia and two inventories. Genzo was recognised of key importance for the musical life in Koper in the first half of the 19th century. Indicated are sources that point to the presence of his works also in north Adriatic territory inviting to further research.
