Among 1907 examined wild birds 16 of them were positive for low pathogenic avian infleunza viruses. In most cases the aquatic wild birds were the positive ones: mallards, mute swans, a common snipe, a great cormorant and a starling. Infections with HPAI were confirmed in mute swans, grey herons, a mallard and the first time in Europe also in a pintail.
