Modified iterative peeling method and mixed model methodology were compared in case of incomplete penetrance model and multiple alleles. In population genotyped, the last one gives sufficient approximations of true values for use in practice, while in ancestors, the probabilities assumed did not prevail. Mathematical presentation of linear mixed models are translated into graphical form. The quantitative geneticists got an efficient methods for research as well as rutine work.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2590088In the paper, we studied the quality of subcutaneous fat and meat in M. longisimus dorsi of Krškopolje pig and commercial genotypes. Fatty acid composition of indigenious local breed was favorable from nutritional as well as technological point of view. The same is true for meat quality traits.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3823736The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of polymorphism g.276T>G in FTO gene on fatness traits and fatty acid composition for intramuscular fat in M. Longissimus dorsi and backfat in Slovenian pig population. Experiment involved 23 animals of Slovenian local breed Krškopolje pig and 24 animals of hybrid 12. Strong association between g.276T>G in FTO gene and saturated, n-3/n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and aterogenic index in intramuscular fat was confirmed. The significant effect was also observed on mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acid in backfat.
