The simulation framework of the iGRIDras project supports arbitrary operating system capable of running Java6. It enables simulation of the intelligent routing and scheduling in GRID systems through PeerSim and GridSim frameworks. The framework encapsulates a plug-in, capable of automatic learning of routing and scheduling of independent jobs to resources defined in the system. The framework also supports comparisons between various algorithms and the iGRIDras approach.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22567463The XtreemOS project promotes native Virtual Organization (VO) support in the Linux-based operating system for the next generation GRIDs, reason being the recognition of the fundamental role of VOs in GRIDs. The aim of the XtreemOS project is to minimize or even omit the overhead brought by layers of existing GRID middleware by enabling the native VO support. This paper presents the XtreemOS vision of VOs in GRID and describes various aspects of VO management (from architecture, security to application execution). These requirements were used in the requirements phase of the iGRIDras project.
