The article publishes the results of the investigations of the proximal parts of the Slovenian Basin in aspect to the Julian Carbonate Platform. The newly discovered Upper Triassic limestone succesion from the eastern part of the Bohinj Range is described. The article contains the biostratigraphic results of the detailed conodont analysis and description of the Triassic/Jurassic boundary, which represents first such example from the Slovenia. The detailed correlation with sorrounding areas is elaborated (Southern Alps, Northern Calcareous Alps, Transdanubian Range and Carpathians).

The article is based on the detailed geological mapping of the Triglav Lakes Valley. It became obvious that geological composition (predominantly structural elements) has esential influentce on the morphology of the valley. Until now it was considered that this area represents tipical example of the glacially shapped valley. Detailed mapping revealed that glaciers only mildly reshaped the relief, whereas main geomorphological features (flats, cliffs and even lakes) are directly related to the tectonic origin of the valley.

In this article results of detailed geological mapping and sedimentological investigations of the Upper Triassic and Lower Jurassic succession on the Mt Kobla are published. It deals with repeated Triassic/Jurassic boundary in the succession. The succession is composed of hemipelagic limestone that alternates in the upper part with resedimented limestones. It ends with characteristic horizon of thin-bedded hemipelagic limestone that presumambly records the crisis in the carbonate production at the end of the Triassic. This horizon reappears upwards the succession and is tectonically repeated.

The contribution on the conference focused on the Jurassic sedimentary evolution of the Slovenian Basin. It is a compilation of data obtained durind the investigations for the Ph.D. thesis and postdoc project. In the presentation the importance of the Pliensbachian tectonic event and the drowning of the Julian Carbonate Platform was outlined as a major geodinamic event. The data used for the decription of this event was gained from the postdoc project.

The contribution on the conference deals with the evolution of the Slovenian basin in the Lower Jurassic. It is focused on the distribution of facies associations and composition of the Lower Jurassic Krikov Formation that is characterized by resedimented limestones. Facies associations prove that the Slovenian Basin was influenced predominantly by the Julian Carbonate platform. Simultaneous impact of the south-lying Dinaric Carbonate Platform was negliable. The composition of the resedimented limestones records the gradual deepening and final drowning of the Julian Carbonate Platform.
