This publication treats an interesting problems concerning triassic/jurassic boundary in Preserje. Detail geochemical, isotopical and sedimentological study were performed to assess strong anomalies of major and trace elements especially carbon and oxygen stable isotope fluctuations. Preliminary data indicate that during the deposition of upper triassic and lower jurassic sediments strong variations in chemical composition of the sediments and changes in sedimentation rate occurred.

Carbon and oxygen stable isotope analyses of Triassic and Jurassic dolomites from Žvencelj-Novi zavodi and Tresenk-Rupendol sections on Krim Mountain area, were preliminary and were carried out with the purpose of determining T/J boundary. Due to lack of fossil remains and continuous carbonate sedimentation during T/J transition, the exact position of T/J boundary has not been defined yet. It was presumed in coarse-grained Main dolomite in which intermediate beds of laminated dolomites are no longer present.

The preliminary paper deals with geological relations at the contact of Norian-Rhaetian dolomite complex known under the name Main Dolomite respectively Hauptdolomit and above lying limestone facies belonging to Lias. Isotopic, sedimentologic and paleontologic analyses indicate that the boundary between Triassic and Jurassic system lies on the border of uppermost sparitic dolomites with interbeds and horizons of dolomite breccias and overlying limestones with sections of alga Palaeodasycladus.

The transition from Permian to Triassic in the Brsnina section in the Karavanke Mountains is caracterized by a negative d13C and d18O excursion. In the Brsnina section a major drop of d13C values begins approximately 15 m below the lothologically proposed boundary. The d13C curve reaches a first minimum of -1,95%o about 13 m below the boundary, a second minimum of -2,30%o 0,8 m below the PTB, followed by a positive excursion to +0,08%o at 29,5 cm below the PTB.

In this study we present the results of sulfur isotopic composition of carbonate associated sulphate (CAS) as well as the pyrite sulphur composition from the P/T boundary in the Idrijca Valley, W Slovenia which yield some additional information about the sulphur isotope events across the Permian-Triassic boundary.
