The members of the project team dr. Darko Darovec, dr. Aleksander Panjek and Petra Kavrečič have edited two multilingual publications (in Slovene, English, Croat and Italian) about the cultural heritage of the Istrian territory entiteled Heart of Istria. Special emphasis was dedicated to the crossborder and transnational aspects in the processes of the touristic development of the region, which was especially appreciated by the cofinancers of the project.

Jože Pirjevec has organized and headed the scientific Committee of the international scientific conference entiteled Perspectives of slovene-croatian borderness. The conference was considered very important both from the scientific as from the wider public and helped to deeply understand the socio-historical basis of the slovene-croatian relations, which represents in present times a very important thematic in both States.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11351117The project team member Dr Aleksander Panjek is a member of the editorial board of Acta Histriae, a scientific journal whose primary mission is to publish articles on the contact area lying between the Mediterranean and central Europe. The first three thematic issues published in the year relevant for this report featured interdisciplinary studies by Slovene and foreign scholars dealing with the following themes related to the Mediterranean area and its hinterland: Nobility in coastal towns; Venetian presence in the Adriatic in the early modern age; History of transport connections.

D.03 Membership in foreign/international boards/committees
The member of the project team dr. Borut Klabjan presented a paper at the international scientific workshop entiteled "The commemoration of the great war in east-central europe, 1918-1939" held at the Central European University in Budapest. In his paper he presented the commemorative practices in the area of the »Mediterranean Slovenia« in contact with the italian space after WWI.
