The aim of this study was to find the association between posterior cross bite, sucking habits, orofacial functions and otolaryngological findings in the deciduous dentition period. The results of this study suggested that the duration of pacifier habit and the presence of short frenulum linguae were associated with posterior cross bite at the age of 4 or 5 years. A preventive program for posterior cross bite on the interceptive basis at an early stage of dental development was proposed.

COBISS.SI-ID: 25312473The paper deals with the design and technique of tooth preparation for all-ceramic restorations, placing emphasis on the execution of the marginal preparation. The shape of the chamfer or shoulder depends on the type of ceramic selected and on the technique of cementation. The procedure is presented step by step, as it is performed in a clinical setting, burs used are described. Two types of preparation are described, their shape depends on the type of ceramic selected and on the technique of cementation.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24499673Grinding of enamel surface exposes the deeper and more reactive layers of enamel, thus increasing the possibility of demineralization and caries development. We found that resin applied over ground enamel surface significantly hindered demineralization of the enamel underneath the coating.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23724249In this review article human and experimental studies on the adverse effects of PCBs on enamel development are presented, and the first preliminary results of the study on experimental rats are included. It was concluded that there is a need for studies in exposed animal models on the role of individual PCB congeners and their mixtures, and that it is essential to be aware of other potential pathways than only the AhR-mediated toxicity.
