A novel turbine simulator for factory and field testing and adjusting of the turbine governor has been developed in Litostroj's instrumentation laboratory. The turbine simulator is built in LabVIEW environment. The simulation is performed using a personal computer and communication unit. The simulator is designed for simulation of Kaplan and Francis turbines in no-load conditions and grid operation. It enables testing of all control loops and functions of the turbine governor.

COBISS.SI-ID: 10695963Control of hydraulic transients in hydro power systems is essential for safe operation of the plant. Litostroj has refurbished and upgraded four Pelton turbines for a utility in Montenegro. A novel theoretical model for a Pelton turbine has been developed. The new model incorporates sinchronous operation of the nozzle and jet deflector considering hydraulic and mechanical torques. The computational results are compared with results of field measurments. The agreement between the results is reasonable allowing the developed model to be used for industrial applications.
