In the frame of this project we obtained wen knowledge in the field of use of meta-kaoline and fly-ash for the production of fiber-cement composites. We also showed, that by using rheological measurements, it is possible to determine the quality of cement used for the preparation of the composites.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22533927The influence of the various fillers (silica fume, metakaolin and fly ash) on the mechanical properties of hardened FCC materials was investigated. Special attention has been devoted to the use of fly ash in the preparation of the composites, since it is a secondary raw material that is available from Slovenian sources – thermonuclear plants. The results indicate, that regarding the mechanical properties all of the fillers can be used without major deterioration of the mechanical properties.

In this work we investigated the influence of the various fillers (silica fume, metakaolin and fly ash) on the mechanical properties of hardened FCC materials. The results indicate, that regarding the mechanical properties all of the fillers can be used without major deterioration of the mechanical properties, and they also does not deteriorate the rheological properties of wet composites. The results of the industrial experiment using fly-ash as filler was also presented and the results are promising.

Prehydration of Portland cement is known in the field to sometimes cause unexpected loss of performance, especially in presence of admixtures, such as slump loss, set retardation, slow strength development. Actual mechanisms are not well understood. Nanocem pre-study to examine if the general phenomenon of prehydration can be scientifically investigated (analytical tools and methods).
