This paper deals with the problem of evaluating and selecting the most appropriate Learning Management System (LMS) in relation to the definite group of users. We introduce Evaluation Cycle Management (ECM), a support methodology aimed at the evaluation of options that occur in the decision-making processes. ECM is based on Multi-attribute decision making model DEX (Criteria Evaluation) and Usability Testing (Usability Evaluation).

In the article, we describe a smart space for learning that provides personalized access to distributed heterogeneous knowledge repositories and help a learner to find the most relevant learning resources according to their learning goals. Our infrastructure includes personalization strategies both at the query and the query results level. Rule-based reasoning techniques are supported by developed formal ontologies. Acceptance rate of the special issue of ACM Transactions on Internet Technology where the journal was published was 12%.

In this book chapter we present and analyse security and privacy requirements in technology enhanced learning. The analysis was also based on an extensive survey that aimed at collecting requirements of end-users and learning technology, service and content providers on this issue. The list of analyzed protection measures includes personal data protection, anonymity, identity management, single sign on, authenticity of learning resources, digital rights management, legislation, and awareness raising or education.

In the paper a learning environment for self–directed learning, collaboration and social networking composed of loosely coupled web 2.0-based educational tools is presented. The set of its building blocks includes blogs, wikis, social bookmarking tools, tools for federated search, management of learning contracts and personal communication, feed aggregators, etc. Contrary to monolithic learning environments, such as learning management systems, learners can choose the tools by themselves and compose a personal learning environment according to their preferences.

In a book chapter we present results of a research on influence of technology enhanced learning and organizational learning on business performance. In accordance with stakeholder theory and balanced scorecard, both financial and non-financial aspects of performance are considered. In the research, special attention is given to the presentation of definitions of four main construct of research model: technology-enhanced learning, organizational learning, financial and non-financial business performance and their operationalization.
