The monography Istrorumanian Etimologies, Volume 3, presents the author's findings regarding the origin of other animals, of myconims and cooper terminology. The material was collected in the frame of the project »Istrian Linguistic Atlas« in the 1980s, but was later expanded. The author's findings, which show that Istrorumanian words are largely of Chacavian origin, are based on a comparative analysis of all the expressions with the material available in Istrorumanian glossaries, vocabularies and dictionaries.

The paper discusses the myconyms in Istro-Rumanian idioms that were collected by fieldwork, mostly in the frame of the IrLA survey, but also later. Unfortunately, the number of reference sources, including dictionaries, dealing with myconyms in Istriot vernaculars, is extremely low. In addition, Istrorumanian and Chacavian lexical repertoires that we collected only contained a minimal number of myconyms. The further problem is the poor knowledge of mushrooms among the local population, which could present another reason for the erroneous identifications of individual names.

Based on the dialectal material gathered from the radio show titled Za smeh in dobro voljo, the first part of the paper tries to identify the Romanic-Germanic verbal elements in the idiom of Križ (S. Croce) near Trieste – which displays typical idiomatic features of the Kras area – and subsequently present these from the morphological and lexical points of view. The second part focuses on a lexical analysis of Romanic Istrian-Slovene verbal elements drawn from a collection of humorous short stories by Nelda Štok Vojska entitled Antonci v Pridvoru, Istrjani na Obali.

The article discusses eighteen insect names and some closely related forms (for instance honey, sting). The entomonymes are part of a larger corpus of over eight thousand forms we have collected (research results were published on several occasions, after their final authentication and supplementation in 2008 in all villages where Istrorumanian is spoken to this day: Žejane, Šušnjevica, Nova Vas, Jesenovik, Letaj, Brdo, Škabići, Trkovci, Zankovci, Miheli, Kostrčan) and which does not consist of entomonymes alone. At the end of etymological article the original etymon is given.
