COBISS.SI-ID: 244003072In the article we demonstrate that the conflict between individual and social level is the only important explanation of disequilibrium in the existent consumption patterns. The disequilibrium in our consumption patterns derives from the fact that numerous activities are more attractive for individuals than for the society. Besides, the benefits from visible consumption are more contextually sensitive than the benefits from invisible consumption. In this way the condition to increase the conflict between individual and social is satisfied.
