Workshop on inducing process models brings together researchers developing methods for automated modeling of complex dynamic systems from data derived from measured or observed system behavior and background knowledge abut processes that govern that behavior. The developed methods are applicable to the tasks of establishing both scientific and business models, so the workshop is clearly and immediately relevant to the topic of modeling life events in the e-government domain.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22059303The invited talk on the workshop, which was held within the largest annual conference on artificial intelligence in Japan, emphasizes the importance of knowledge representation for modeling real-world systems in different scientific domains. Although the invited talk refers to models in natural sciences, experiences with modeling in the public administration domain are similar in the sense of the importance of establishing a proper formalism for modeling knowledge representation and use.
