COBISS.SI-ID: 21402151A new instrumentation method for observing electron emission uniformity from thermionic cathodes was introduced. Nanodiamond coated cathodes were observed on the screen by means of a triode. Thermal range from 300 to 550°C revealed that nonuniformity of parameters during deposition of the cathode results in emission non-uniformity. The new device will allow better control of deposition parameters which will synthesis of brighter cathodes.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23268647Synthesis of tungsten oxide nanowires is presented. After mounted in the field emission microscope, they exhibited high reduced angular current density, directly comparable to carbon nanotubes, known to be the brightest electron cold emitters.
