The new research highlights the presence and activity of Slovenes living in the littoral area of Primorsko in the 19th and 20th centuries. It primarily focuses on analyzing the Italian-Slovene national conflict, both before and after WW I. By presenting the biographies of important Slovene academics and members of the middle class, it highlights the effects of fascistization of Primorsko, and emigration as a result of the radical transformation of the society in the littoral region.
