The monograph presents the less known and some completely unknown works by the most important Venetian architect of the first half of the 18th century, Giorgio Massari, located in the Gorzia region, Friuli, Istria and Dalmatia. It brings forth new findings about the architect's early formation, it reveals him as a specialist for harmonious renovations of old cathedrals, and, on the basis of establishing the wide span of his architectural knowledge and skill and creative adaptability to his clients' demands, it secures a new place for him in the survey of European late-Baroque architecture.
