Vasja Vehovar has been the principal investigator of the RIS project since 1996. The RIS project investigates the social aspects of ICT and primarily the impacts of the Internet and mobile telephony on society. The results of more than 30 surveys and 100 research reports have been published and made publicly available at http://ris.org, where data archives can also be downloaded. As such, the project serves as a main source of information about the social implications of the information society. The web site has approximately 1,000 daily unique visitors and is extensively cited in the media.

COBISS.SI-ID: 25613917Vasja Vehovar co-ordinated the FP5 project WebSM in the 2003-2005 period, which is so far the only project within fields of the social sciences that has been co-ordinated by a Slovenian partner. The project established the main global website about the methodology of web surveys, http://websm.org. On the basis of the continuous research since 1996, the FSS-UL has become known as one of the leading global reference points in this field. This is largely due to the maintenance of WebSM site, which has been used by more than 10,000 researchers worldwide.
