Researchers from 3 continents focused on child/adolescent personality traits predicting developmental outcomes (social competence, internalizing/externalizing problems, academic achievement, health-risk behavior). The predictive relations were obtained using newly developed, ecologically valid measures. Application of findings into educational practice and psychological counseling was discussed. Slovene science at the world level was promoted within this symposium and a wide range of scientific research experience, knowledge and effective practices were exchanged among recognized researchers

COBISS.SI-ID: 31518562Employment of new personality measures for children/adolescents was considered. The structure of personality traits was presented in perspectives of hierarchical relations of dimensions to Alpha/Beta Factors, developmental and cross-contextual congruence of components, and validation. Various types of stability, reliability, predictive validity and applicability of the measures were discussed. The symposium was important with regard to exchange of knowledge among researchers. It contributed to dissemination of findings in the field of psychological assessment, psychodiagnostics and counseling.

COBISS.SI-ID: 32943970Recent approaches, methods and construction of measures to investigate child/adolescent personality within the Big Five Model were presented. Findings on personality structure, types of change, predictive value and future prospects in pre-adult trait research were discussed. The findings are important to counselors and other specialists in (pre)schools and medical centers. The invitation to present the latest achievements in the field at such a conference means that our research attainments are comparable at the world level. At the same time, the presentation promoted the Slovene psychology.
